Lost

from Lyrics by Thursday's Child

lyrics

Lost
Chris Pyam & Ken Punshon (2010)

The playground it is closing now
Everybody's going back home
But one little boy is still left there
In the dark all alone

He's been held there for many years now
Trapped forever down in the park
And his body is buried there somewhere
With his soul in the dark

[Continuing to wander
No longer afraid
Bitterly remembering
Resenting that past day]

He'd been playing on the roundabout
While his mother fondly looked on
She was distracted but for a moment
She looked back, he was gone

Lured away by a stranger
Tempted by the promise of sweets
So he followed them to the bushes
To his winding sheet

[]

Searchers never found the body
Nor did they know who had done
Such an awful deed; for his parents
Are loooking still for their son

Now he searches throughout the night
Just to find someone that he knows
But if by chance someone should see him
Will they run, will they go

[]

Drifting, floating in isolation
Not understanding why he's not seen
Disappearing then as the dawn comes
Next night same routine

Still he's trying to right the wrong now
That prevented him growing old
Not realising that he's not there, and
For him the bell's tolled

about

Thursday's Child UK

Thursday's Child was born on a Monday (August Bank Holiday 2009)!

Chris Pyam and Ken Punshon got together to try out a couple of ideas for songs. That afternoon they created about eight songs; since then over 100 more have emerged, with a few more 'bubbling away'.

Heather Dunn joined us in Nov 13 to contribute additional harmonies during the creation of our third album (Carry My Thoughts).
