Bees buzzing lazily gathering pollen
Ready to make their sweet honey for all
Insects are humming, the field mouse is running,
Scurrying frantically through the grass tall

Flowers are blooming and gently they're swaying,
Soft gentle breezes are warming the day
Trickling waterfalls, splashing so sweetly
Birds hop and dance in the water's fine spray

Tired dog sleeping, and cat slowly creeping
Hoping to pounce on his prey in the grass
But overhead, peering, the kestrel is leering
No one can match him, he swoops down so fast

Over the pond now the dragonflies hover
Rituals of courtship forever performed
The blackbird sings shrill and calls out to his lover
He will be faithful to their own newborn

Hedgehog with prickly spine shuffles and snuffles
Slowly he makes his way over the ground
Eating up insects and all he can find there
Making the most of the bounty he's found

The squirrel bounds in and out through trees and bushes
Quick as a flash she is up and away
Gathering hazelnuts fresh and new fallen
Storing up treasures for cold winter days

Now march the regiments over the molehills
An army of frogs now all croaking in song
Columns of green and brown webbed feet displaying
Hopping and dancing they make for the pond

Soft falls the gentle rain, dried in a moment
Out comes the rainbow to colour the sky

Thursday's Child was born on a Monday (August Bank Holiday 2009)!

Chris Pyam and Ken Punshon got together to try out a couple of ideas for songs. That afternoon they created about eight songs; since then over 100 more have emerged, with a few more 'bubbling away'.
