lyrics

Ombrelle
Chris Pyam & Ken Punshon (2010)

<>

[She puzzles my thoughts and drifts through my dreams
Who she is I cannot tell
The one thing I know, she's not what she seems
La femme a l'ombrelle]
<>

First saw her watching boats on the sea
From the terrace at Sainte-Adresse
Then she appeared standing under a tree
In chiffon she was dressed

An impression of her there, on the cliff at Pourville
Watching the scudding waves
In the red poppy field near Argenteuil
My heart became enslaved
[]
<>

She's walked many times in the meadows with the flowers
Hiding in the shadow of the trees
And while all the colours my eye devours
She drifts fascinatingly

Appearing once again when she turned left and right
With flowers around her feet
The sun on her dress, such a beautiful sight
My heart skipped a beat
[]
<>

Under the poplars, the sunlight effect
Captures my emotions a-gain
White crinoline 'gainst the flowers - perfect
The memory I retain

Finally I knelt down there on my knees
Framing her against the sky
White fluffy clouds, rustling chemise
Always in my mind's eye
[She puzzles my thoughts and drifts through my dreams
Who she is I cannot tell
The one thing I know, she's not what she seems
La femme a l'ombrelle

The one thing I know, she's not what she seems
La femme a l'ombrelle]

about

Thursday's Child UK

Thursday's Child was born on a Monday (August Bank Holiday 2009)!

Chris Pyam and Ken Punshon got together to try out a couple of ideas for songs. That afternoon they created about eight songs; since then over 100 more have emerged, with a few more 'bubbling away'.

Heather Dunn joined us in Nov 13 to contribute additional harmonies during the creation of our third album (Carry My Thoughts).
