Relativity

from Lyrics by Thursday's Child

lyrics

Relativity (36)
Ken Punshon & Chris Pyam (2010)

The helix is rotating, colours often change
Twisted round together, but far apart, how strange
A crystal tube contains them, the limit of their scope
Outside this frame of reference, they would blindly grope

A gnawing agitation irritates two threads
Whatever can deter them, nothing - steam ahead
Shadows of reflections, point and counterpoint
The subtle interactions, now somewhat disjoint

Beware, a cusp approaches - the colours growing bright
Sadly for both instances, they're spoiling for a fight
The maelstrom engages, is it just a summer squall
Perhaps this time more serious, the writing on the wall

The flare is incandescent, heartfelt words exchanged
Accusations stated, characters harangued
Transient phenomena briefly light the scene
Then just as quickly vanish, just as never been

Slowly the pulsations settle into sync
Cessation of hostilities gives them time to think
The after-shock then hits them, passions flare anew
With distorted vision, the grudges will accrue

Reconciliation might have come from talk
But now there's separation, and disparate paths to walk
Special relativity once had been their goal
But now there's time dilation due to the black hole.

about

Thursday's Child UK

Thursday's Child was born on a Monday (August Bank Holiday 2009)!

Chris Pyam and Ken Punshon got together to try out a couple of ideas for songs. That afternoon they created about eight songs; since then over 100 more have emerged, with a few more 'bubbling away'.

Heather Dunn joined us in Nov 13 to contribute additional harmonies during the creation of our third album (Carry My Thoughts).
