Sense of Freedom

from Lyrics by Thursday's Child

lyrics

Sense of Freedom (92)
Chris Pyam & Ken Punshon (2012)

See the demonstrations
Asking freedom for us all
Read the pleas for help there
In the writing on the wall

Hear the cries of people
Trapped in urban sprawl
Crying for release now
Against the wailing wall

[Hear the clarion call
Raise the banners tall
We can make the barriers fall]

Smell the sweet corruption
Through which we're forced to crawl
The stink of putrefaction
From within the Street of Walls

Tasting pain and deprivation
Outside the hallowed halls
There's no expression of compassion
From behind those Chinese walls

[]

Touch our hearts with hope now
Give courage to us all
Learning how together
We can destroy that wall

Feel the sense of freedom
With joy the people call
Together, reunited
Now we've pulled down that wall

[]
[]
We can make the barriers fall
We can make the barriers fall

about

Thursday's Child UK

Thursday's Child was born on a Monday (August Bank Holiday 2009)!

Chris Pyam and Ken Punshon got together to try out a couple of ideas for songs. That afternoon they created about eight songs; since then over 100 more have emerged, with a few more 'bubbling away'.

Heather Dunn joined us in Nov 13 to contribute additional harmonies during the creation of our third album (Carry My Thoughts).
