Shame The Devil

from Lyrics by Thursday's Child

lyrics

Shame The Devil
Ken Punshon & Chris Pyam 2011

[Tell the truth and shame the devil
That's what the papers used to say
Now we've heard in stories sev'ral
That's not the case in present day]

They write their words they tell their stories
Making out it all is true
Supporting labour or the tories
It's all the same for me and you

[]

Left or right, perhaps in the middle
One thing that we must observe
It's society that's on the fiddle
We get the press that we deserve

[]

There are still those that strive with insight
For the goal of the fourth estate
Searching always for wrongs to write
Trying to keep the record straight

[]

Let's shine bright lights into dark places
Help us all disperse the gloom
One sure thing the human race is
Not about to change real soon

[Tell the truth and shame the devil
That's what we ought to try to do
Balanced comment, on the level
Coming from all of-us too]

about

Thursday's Child UK

Thursday's Child was born on a Monday (August Bank Holiday 2009)!

Chris Pyam and Ken Punshon got together to try out a couple of ideas for songs. That afternoon they created about eight songs; since then over 100 more have emerged, with a few more 'bubbling away'.

Heather Dunn joined us in Nov 13 to contribute additional harmonies during the creation of our third album (Carry My Thoughts).
